All introduced grass species listed in this publication are cool-season grasses. Introduced grasses can be used for a variety of conservation purposes, such as improved pasture and hay land, waterways, conservation cover, filter strips and wildlife habitat. They were brought to this country for different purposes or escaped unintentionally. Introduced (tame) grasses are species that did not exist naturally in the region.
